Why I Love the Ocean

We are so lucky to live right next to the ocean, the awesome and primal force that forms our aesthetics, haunts our dreams, and gently floats our bodies every summer. 

Of course, we tend to take it for granted. Salem Sound Coastwatch reminds us that the mighty ocean needs our help to maintain its beauty and preserve the myriad astonishing beings who call it home. 

This remarkable nonprofit organization found an articulate and thoughtful person -- who has lived near the ocean for two decades -- and asked her to express her thoughts about the ocean, as a way to remind us of its worth, and our role in its continued vibrancy.
